Our commitment

Modern Caveman Custom Stone Engraving ("Modern Caveman", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you use this website or contact us about custom stone engraving, delivery, installation or on-site engraving services.

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to give us, including:

• Your name, email address and optional phone number;
• Your message, project details, requested services and preferred contact method; and
• An optional reference photo or PDF you attach to a contact or rock-order inquiry (files over 8 MB are not attached).

Our hosting and security providers may also receive limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as IP address, browser or device information, request information and diagnostic logs. Authorized owners who sign in to the private inventory area provide authentication information and use necessary session cookies.

How we use your information

We use personal information only for reasonable business purposes, including to:

• Reply to inquiries, prepare quotes and discuss a project;
• Plan, provide and support our engraving, delivery and installation services;
• Maintain records related to customer communications and services;
• Operate, secure and troubleshoot this website and its owner-only inventory tools; and
• Meet legal, tax, regulatory or dispute-resolution obligations.

By submitting a form or contacting us, you consent to this collection and use for the purposes described above. You may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting us using the details below.

How information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only when necessary to operate the site or provide our services, including with these service providers:

• Vercel, which hosts and secures this website;
• Supabase, which supports the site database and owner authentication; and
• Resend, when enabled, to deliver contact-form inquiries by email.

These providers process information only to provide services to us and may handle data outside Alberta or Canada. Information handled in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, or to protect our rights, customers or business.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses necessary cookies only when they are needed for secure owner login and session management. We do not currently use advertising pixels, behavioural advertising cookies or third-party website analytics. You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking necessary cookies may prevent the private owner area from working properly.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, provide services, maintain business records, resolve issues and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative, technical and access controls designed to protect the information in our care. No online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices and privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct your personal information, ask how it has been used or disclosed, or raise a privacy concern. Please email larry@moderncaveman.ca with the subject line “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Children's privacy

Our services and website are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization.

We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. The current version will always be posted on this page with its revised date.
